ziarah.org — Indonesia Pilgrimage Directory Plan

Pitch

A comprehensive digital directory and spiritual guide for pilgrimage sites (ziarah) across Indonesia, covering all major religions (Islam, Catholicism, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism) and local spiritual beliefs (Penghayat Kepercayaan). Built using the ziarah.org high-performance serverless architecture.

Target State

  • Platform: 100% Cloudflare Serverless (Pages + Workers + D1).
  • Content: Curated database of holy sites, historical mosques, Gua Maria, temples, and sacred natural sites.
  • Features: Category-based filtering (by religion), location-based search, spiritual history, and community voting/stats.

Tech Stack (Template: ziarah.org)

  • Frontend: Cloudflare Pages (React/Vanilla CSS).
  • API/Logic: Cloudflare Workers (Edge runtime).
  • Database: Cloudflare D1 (SQLite at the edge).
  • Media: Cloudflare R2 (Photos of sites).
  • Cache: Cloudflare KV (Fast lookups for popular sites).

Revenue Model

  • Partnerships: spiritual tour operators and local pilgrimage guides.
  • Ads: Contextual travel and religious merchandise.
  • Donations: "Keep the lights on" via spiritual community support.

Content Structure (Categories)

  • Kepercayaan: Gunung Lawu, Cigugur (Sunda Wiwitan), Tana Toraja (Aluk Todolo), Baduy.

Keramat & Sesajian (Local/Syncretic Traditions)

Locations known for their "keramat" status where offerings (sesajian) are central to the pilgrimage experience.

  • Gunung Kawi (Malang): Famous for the Pesarean Eyang Jugo and the Dewandaru tree. Offerings include flowers and specific rituals for prosperity and blessings.
  • Pantai Parangkusumo (Yogyakarta): The spiritual gateway to the South Sea Kingdom. Known for the Labuhan ritual where elaborate offerings (pakaian, flowers, food) are cast into the sea for Nyi Roro Kidul.
  • Gunung Srandil (Cilacap): A sacred site dedicated to Eyang Semar and other ancestral figures. Common site for deep meditation and traditional Javanese offerings.
  • Gunung Padang (Cianjur): A massive megalithic site considered a "Kabuyutan" (ancestral sacred place) where visitors seek spiritual energy and connection to ancient ancestors.
  • Situ Lengkong Panjalu (Ciamis): An island tomb (Nusa Larang) of Syekh Panjalu, reached by boat, where traditional Sundanese spiritual rituals and Islamic ziarah blend seamlessly.
  • Makam Mbah Mudzakkir (Demak): A "floating" tomb in the sea that remains dry even during high tide. Considered highly sacred with a strong local aura of karomah.

Implementation Plan

  1. Infrastructure Setup: Provision ziarah_org_prod D1 database and ziarah-org-assets R2 bucket.
  2. Schema Migration: Apply ziarah.org schema (categories, cities, places) to D1.
  3. Data Seeding: Import the researched list of 50+ primary pilgrimage sites across Indonesia, including ritual details for "sesajian" sites.
  4. Frontend Adaptation: Port the ziarah.org UI, localizing it for the Indonesian pilgrimage context (Bahasa Indonesia priority).
  5. Deployment: Deploy to ziarah.org via Wrangler.

⚙ HARD CONSTRAINTS (enforced for all sites)

This domain MUST operate within these constraints — no exceptions:

  • 100% Cloudflare serverless — Workers + D1 + R2 + KV + Workers AI + Vectorize. NEVER PM2, NEVER VPS, NEVER Docker in production path.
  • 100% AI-automated — every customer interaction, every moderation decision, every transaction reconcile = AI. No manual queue, no live human chat support, no physical fulfillment.
  • 1-operator solo — one person can run the entire operation from a phone. No team meetings, no shared inbox, no shift rotation.
  • WhatsApp AI bot for all support (24/7, instant response, no SLA promises that need humans).
  • Mayar QRIS for all Indonesian payments (subscription auto-renew, no manual invoicing).
  • Indonesian UI primary — bahasa-first, English fallback only where unavoidable.
  • Privacy — opt-in only, delete-on-request honored within 24h (cron-driven).
  • No physical goods, no inventory — digital products + affiliate referrals only.

If the plan above describes any flow that violates these constraints, treat the plan as ASPIRATIONAL only and rework before building. The constraint trifecta wins.
